We got the pleasure of interviewing our amazing weightlifting teacher Mr. Regal! Mr. Regal teaches 4 weightlifting classes, 2 intro and 2 advanced. So far in his intro classes, they have been working on their core lifts. Also, our lifters use an app to track their progress and do the math of all the lifts for them!
Weightlifting can be included as part of the physical education curriculum . It also helps students develop strength, improve their overall fitness, and learn proper technique to avoid injury.
We are so thankful to have an experienced lifter teaching our high school students not only how to lift but discipline and hardwork.
Thank you Mr. Regal!
Last week was our first Education Transformation Team (ETT) meeting of the school year.
Thanks to the team and all who contributed; you make our school a better place.
Also, we would like to extend a big thank you to Inga Neal from Temptations for providing us lunch. #buildingbetterfutures #OneTrojan #Green&Growing

New Castle High School is headed toward being a "Leader In Me" School. Taking the principles from Franklin Covey's book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," the Freshmen Academy is incorporating the program into curriculum. #BuildingBetterFutures.

Ever wonder what your TEACHERS do on the weekend? Let's ask!
English teacher Casie Bell: "I'm headed to church on Sunday, taking care of grandparents, spending time with my son, and going on a date!"
Coach Gabe Haworth: "Soccer match on Saturday morning, and a popcorn & movie night with the kids on Saturday night!"
Health teacher Carly Lawson: " I work a second job Friday nights, but I'm going to a Doobie Brothers concert Saturday, and will, rest and relax for the rest of the weekend!"
