Mrs. Terhaar's English classes read "To Kill A Mocking Bird," and had open, yet deep discussions over issues within the book. Movement broke up the friction as they choose their stance. The students did very well defending their positions, and a few took turns being "devil's advocate." Nice job, Mrs. Terhaar, for making us think.

Señora Sorrell and her 2nd Year Spanish students read about every-day heroes in their textbook. Their discussion led to an all-out project in which they decided to also honor their special heroes! Now, our local grandparents, parents, sisters, and brothers know how much they are appreciated in dual languages. Muy bien, estudiantes; tus familias estarán orgullosas. (Very good, students; your families will be proud.)

NCHS teachers Harley Walls and Noah Brown took a group of AGventure girls (future FFA girls) to Fort Wayne for Purdue's "ENGAGE Young Ladies in Ag" Conference! It was great to see our girls networking and connecting with other outstanding young ladies from all over the state. There they learned about employability skills, resume building, interviewing, career readiness, college scholarships, FFA, and more! It was an excellent time and the girls are not only excited to have our FFA officially chartered soon, but also to attend next year.
