We hope you all have a wonderful and safe spring break and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, April 7th.
Please note that we will have a second community meeting to discuss our membership status in our athletic conference (Hoosier Heritage Conference). This meeting will again be at 5:30 p m just prior to the 6:30 Board Meeting on April 14th. Both meetings will occur at the Sunnyside Education Center (formerly Sunnyside Elementary). At the School Board Meeting, the East Central Education Service Center Executive Director, Pat Haney, will provide a brief presentation about the educational support services provided through the ECESC. We are proud to partner with the ECESC as they support not only New Castle but 38 other school corporations in the region. Again, enjoy your spring break!
Wilbur Wright Elementary recognitions program for 3rd grading period will be Friday, March 21st at the the following times: Grades 3-5 @ 8:30 a.m. and Grades K-2 @ 9:15 a.m. Spring Break begins Monday, March 24th. Students return to school on Monday, April 7th.
Tonight is "Night of the Arts" at Wilbur Wright beginning at 5pm for grades PK-2 and at 6pm for grades 3-5. Thursday, March 13th is a virtual day for all students. Assignments will be posted for students to complete. There will be no live teacher sessions.
The New Castle Community School Board will meet in a public Special Session at 5:30 pm on Monday, March 10th in the New Castle Community School Board Room. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss topics related to participation in our Athletic Conference. Athletic Director, Cory Bennett will share trending demographic information and will gather input from the Board and public. All are welcome to attend.

Bus 26 is delayed getting students home today due to a power line being down. Please expect this take a few minutes. Any student riding bus 26 will be late getting home.
Wilbur Wright Events: The PTO will meet tonight at 5:30 (this is a change), Food pantry is this Thursday instead of next week, and 2nd graders begin IREAD testing on Wednesday. Thank you!

Project Warm-up was a success. Students and families cut and tied flannel blankets and wrote notes of encouragement. The service learning team will personally deliver the blankets and notes to 3 local nursing homes on Feb. 19th.

Today the Career Center hosts the portable Versiti Blood Donation Center. Join us today to replenish the Central Indiana blood supply. Versiti will be in Bundy Auditorium until 3:00 PM.
