New Castle Community Food Service is excited to announce the return of its Summer Meal Program for children throughout the community. Beginning June 8, meal packs will be distributed every Monday and Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at New Castle High School.
The program is open to all children 18 years of age and younger. Participants do not need to attend New Castle Community Schools to receive meals.
Families are encouraged to pre-register through the New Castle Community Schools webpage under the "summer" tab to help ensure adequate meal preparation and efficient distribution.
Parents or guardians must pick up the meal packs during distribution times. Children do not need to be present to receive meals.
In addition to meal distribution, the Henry County/New Castle Public Library will be onsite with books available for checkout. The library will also host foam parties in the parking lot during meal distribution using their foam cannon. Families are encouraged to bring a towel and/or extra clothing, as participants will get wet while playing in the foam.
The Summer Meal Program is designed to help ensure children in the community continue to have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months while also providing a fun and engaging family experience.
