Without Community Partners, some of our scholastic programs would not exist. We are so grateful to Duke Energy for giving our students a summer of special memories and helping us accelerate and fine-tune our reading skills.
Duke Energy not only paid for the programming (books, t-shirts, guest speakers, prizes, activities snacks, and field trips), but also our teacher's salaries! In order to participate in the final field trip to the Center of Science Institute in Ohio, each child had accomplish a specific reading goal, with multiple book assignments and reading quotients.
We want to thank our participating teachers, and community guests who took their personal time to pour into our students. You have given them a boost in communication development, broadened their exposure to college and career experiences, and have allowed opportunities to boost imagination and memory recall. Thank you.
Thanks also to The Courier Times for writing such a nice story in the paper this past week.

Thanks also to Robin Wilson, Summer Reading Coordinator, for planning this amazing week for our students, and bringing educational success to Wilbur Wright. She made a slide show of the week that can be found on YouTube:
