New Business:
NCHS: Principal, Mr. Amman, shared the statewide changes in Graduation Diploma Redesign, with total implementation required by 2029.
NCHS: We’re introducing a hybrid course of Biology and Agriculture in the fall of 2024.
NCHS:Kim Nicholson accepted the position of Director of Student Affairs. Kim will be similar to an assistant principal, second in command, and will focus on our curriculum/programming, grant initiatives, special education, teacher evaluations, and more.
NCMS: The Board adopted the new Savvas Science Curriculum for the fall of 2024.
Leah Melton has accepted the position of Human Resource Specialist.
Guest Council Ice Miller/Stiefel advised the Board on possible future bonds, debt service funds vs. operation funds, community taxes, and legal proceedings..
The School Board discussed adoption of a new English Language Arts curriculum for the corporation. For further discussion, another Special Session was scheduled for June 3, 2024, at 12:00 noon. The public is welcome to attend.
Superintendent's Report
Girls' Tennis Team had a great season, ending 15 and 3, with their best year since 1997.
Alaina Bowman, Hoosier Heritage Conference Champion in discus, placed third in shot put.
Laura Fischer, is the Conference Champion in shot put and placed second in discus.
Building and Grounds:
Parker will receive a new roof this summer.
LED lights are going to be installed in the High School over the summer as part of an energy-saving initiative with REMC.
