Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics or STEM is being used to help students learn about possible careers. Sixth Grade students at parker learned about rovers and were challenged to build their own.
“As we were checking out the new STEM lab and following the Design Process, our 6th graders were building a pasta rover for NASA.They were supposed to stay on budget and build a rover that would travel down a meter ramp, an additional meter, and carry a payload for NASA safely to its destination. Only two teams were successful.” – Tina Durham, Parker 6th grade teacher.
This was a great opportunity for our students to apply problem solving and design skills.
