High School Speech Team Honored by NSDA

The New Castle HS speech and debate team has earned significant recognition from the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA). Students earn points and degrees in the National Forensic League, the NSDA’s honor society. Last school year, the New Castle chapter of the NSDA earned over 100 degrees of advancement through student successes and, therefore, ranks “among the top 20% of schools nationwide” and has “earned membership in the Association’s prestigious 100 Club.” The NSDA went on to call this achievement a “milestone” as it “demonstrates a commitment to teaching students essential life skills–including communication, research, listening, writing, and organization.”
