Since moving to masking, we have seen a dramatic reduction of quarantines. Therefore, students and staff will continue to mask. On December 27th the CDC once again changed guidelines for attendance in this pandemic. Students who test positive will be required to remain home for 5 days and if asymptomatic on the 6th day, may return to school while masking. For exposure while unmasked, fully vaccinated students (as defined by CDC) may remain in school as long as they are asymptomatic, and maintain masking at all times in the classroom. If symptoms develop, the student remains home and follows the isolation guidance above. If the test is negative, students return when symptoms have resolved. Unmasked and exposed students who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated may return to school on day 6 if asymptomatic and the student continues to wear a mask for days 6-10. As per the Health Department, home tests are not accepted. Tests must be performed in a clinical site such as a Dr. Office, Urgent Care, Clinic, or commercial pharmacy.
