STEM Spotlight

We are pleased to have 3 New Castle Schools  in the process to become STEM Certified : Parker Elementary, Riley Elementary, and New Castle Middle School.

Parker will complete their certification first in December.

STEM Certified schools exemplify a highly non-traditional approach to education, employing a great deal of inquiry, project-based learning, community engagement, entrepreneurship, student centered classrooms, integration into humanities and related arts, and out-of-school STEM activities.

“An education built upon science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is vital for academic success and life beyond high school,” said Dr. Jennifer McCormick, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction. “Along with great partners in our schools and the classroom, Indiana has prioritized STEM activities each and every day. I am grateful for the student-focused passion exemplified by our STEM Certified schools.

Here are highlights of  each of the school’s journey toward STEM  Certification.
