Other Supervising Nurse Position projected to begin with 2012-2013 school year
NCCSC is seeking a licensed registered nurse to act as supervising nurse. The supervising nurse will have the following responsibilities for all schools within the system: Ø Assuring all state reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner; Ø Providing professional development opportunities and training for any employee group in NCCSC based on student needs; Ø Completing individual health plans based on student needs; Ø Monitoring, supervising, and training all nurses and health assistants at the building level; Ø Assuring that all practices and procedures are in line with any local, state, or federal guidelines for medical assistance for students; Ø Completing any other tasks assigned by the Director of Special Education or Central Office Administration.
Qualifications:RN with a Bachelor degree (prefer familiarity with elementary and secondary school nursing) Rate of pay: $ 36,500.00 plus benefits Work schedule: 183 days per year (mostly on school calendar, but a few days in the summer to complete state reporting and provide training for staff as needed)

Important note:
Per IC 20-28-5-3(c), beginning July 1, 2007, applicants who receive an “initial” teacher’s license must have successfully completed training in:
- cardiopulmonary resuscitation that includes a test demonstration on a mannequin,
- removing a foreign body causing an obstruction in an airway, and the Heimlich Maneuver; and,
- hold a valid certification in each of these procedures from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
